It’s
on the road leading to the Turini Col, that at the turning
of a winding path we have found Notre Dame de la Ménour.
This Roman Chapel is linked to the road by a huge stair
which looks like a high defensive wall. The first people
dwelling in this sanctuary were the Vibères. The
legend tells that they brought the water to the sanctuary
using a cloth stretched above the swallow hole of the
waterfall.
The
village is 786m above sea level, its little roads are
quiet and its Church was built in the XIX century. It
shelters the Pénitents Blancs Chapel, polychromatic
woods and painted walls making its altar.
